We had such a great time celebrating the great work of Christus Victor this past Sunday! After the worship service where we made our commitments to the Capital Campaign, we went over to the Fellowship Hall and enjoyed a multi-cultural potluck feast! Countries from Germany to Mexico were represented in the celebration of our heritage. Please enjoy the photos, just click through to see them all!

Time for Celebration!

Celebration Sunday is finally here, and with it comes the final Sunday of this Campaign. We thank you for your support so far, and for your ongoing support of the ministries of Christus Victor.

If you have not done so already, please turn in your commitment card at one of this morning’s services. There will be a portion of the service devoted to collecting the cards, so feel free to turn them in at that time.

Also, feel free to join us for the Celebration Sunday Luncheon at noon in the Fellowship Hall. A variety of foods from the many countries of our heritage will be served. Enjoy the community of our church and celebrate all the gifts that God has given us!

It is such a joy to see God working through each and every one of you to make this campaign a success! This is the final week for the Capital Campaign fund drive, and we are very excited for Celebration Sunday (March 8) to gather all of our pledges and see what is in store for Christus Victor!

We have already raised over $440,000 in advanced pledges, and we hope to reach our goal. With your help we can’t wait to see where God takes us! We ask that you please return your commitment cards to the church by Sunday, March 8 at the latest. The church Council will be meeting on the following Monday to determine our plan of action, and it is very important for them to have an accurate representation of the giving for this campaign. If you have lost, misplaced, or never received your commitment card, you can download and print a copy here. Please return it to the church Office, or place it in the offering plate on Sunday.

Roderick Price Temple Talk, March 1, 2009

Roderick gave a fantastic temple talk this Sunday that announced that we currently have pledges in hand totaling $440,000 (that figure was lower for the 8:00am service as Tammy had some pledges in her mail box). God is truly good and in presence!

Church members of all ages gathered last Friday night at the Barvian home for en evening of fun, food and fellowship. Wine and snacks were shared on the lanai, the Now is the Time DVD was viewed, and music and games were enjoyed by all. Take a look at some of the pictures below to see the great time we had! Now is the time to join in an evening of special music, viewing of the architect’s rendered drawings for the proposed expansion, great faith stories, food, refreshments, fellowship and fun!

Sunday, February 15 after the 8 and 9:30am services in the Fellowship Hall

Join us this Sunday after the 8 and 9:30 services for a Capital Campaign “Show and Tell Time.”

You will have an opportunity to hear our vision of our future, view the building plans, and watch the “Tell the Story” DVD which includes members of our wonderful, talented, and awesome Christus Victor family. Does the DVD end with a dance number featuring the tap dancing talents of Pastor Thomas J. Slater? Come and find out.

February 8 was the Kickoff to the Capital Campaign, and what a marvelous day it was! After a week of cold temperatures, Sunday proved to be a beautiful Florida February day. A record number of people attended and contributed to make this the best Congregational Picnic yet! There were good burgers and hotdogs, a multitude of side dishes provided by our congregation, games for young and old alike, as well as opportunities to learn about the Capital Campaign.
